  1. Didn't you recently refer to Marilyn Monroe as a drug addict who rambled rubbish? Hmm...

    By Elle, on November 28, 2009 09:13:40

  2. Yes, classically beautiful means you have more work done than the cistine chapel, jolie, theron and berry. And I think marilyn monroe had work done as well.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 10:55:35

  16. I absolutely agree with this post. But it's a shame that any lady with curves like that today gets called 'fat' until she looks like Lindsay Lohan.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 10:57:18

  17. Totally agree with this post...

forget Megan Fox and Ashley whoever the fuck she is

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 11:03:07

  18. what about raquel welch shes probably hotter than all of the others

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 11:20:36

  19. Uh, Angelina Jolie is a classic beauty? She's had more plastic surgery than Joan Rivers - the only difference between the two is that Jolie had more to work with to start and she's younger.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 11:34:12

  20. Audrey, Lauren, Ava, Rita. Brunette, blonde, brunette, redhead. Ohmy.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 11:58:51

  23. Your mom has GREAT taste! Luv ur mom!

But -- not that I want to say anything disparaging about your mom -- she left out Steve McQueen and William Holden!! :-o

I assume that's 'cause you woke her up so early in the a.m.

    By Eileen, on November 28, 2009 12:09:30

  24. Jane Russell looks like the female version of Sylvester Stallone. Marylin had surgery.

By pretty young girl, on November 28, 2009 12:12:17

  25. 7, you suck huge donkey balls. Marilyn Monroe was a great actress who just didn't get good roles. "All About Eve", "The Misfits" are two great examples. Unfortunately, they were basically her first and last roles.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 12:15:36

  26. They are all hot as hell.

Best post in a long time.

    By stripper, on November 28, 2009 12:28:12

  29. You forgot Gene Tierney, Todd. The list just isn't complete without her.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 12:36:50

  30. GRACE KELLY, Google her and tell me she doesn't belong on this list...

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 12:49:38

  31. The Russel chick definitely got a few manly genes.

As hot as they are, my penis knows that they are either dead or incredibly old and wrinkled thus isn't going to waste energy getting excited.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 12:51:13

  32. Your mom is hilarious! And thanks for the non-skank post.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 13:03:11

  45. BEST POST EVER.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 17:42:46

  46. I've been reading this site for a long time now and this is hands-down the best post you've ever done. Also, FIRST!

By Robinson Crusoe, on November 28, 2009 17:44:53

  47. i'm with #30, you should not have left out Grace Kelly. And you are right on with Cary Grant! Too bad the leading men these days don't have his style!

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 18:15:18

  48. Where are the real MEN of cinema today? Chuck Heston, Kirk Douglas, John Wayne and Gregory Peck could wipe the floor with any of them today. Only Butler, Crowe, and Bale have any manliness about them. I'd pay real money to see EL CID era Heston go up against TROY era Pitt. Old "frog feet" would run screaming.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 18:52:18

  49. @33: That is Rita Hayworth. Rawr.

We need an all-Rita Hayworth post - stat. That is all.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 18:55:49

  50. Audrey Hepburn, but not Katherine? For shame.
My time machine fantasy would involve going back to the mid-40s and being in a Katherine Hepburn/Lauren Bacall sandwich.

    By bud, on November 28, 2009 19:10:03

  51. I agree with all of Todd's post except his short list of alleged 'current beauties'. (BUZZ) Wrong! Try again dumbass!

#31 - it's not like your penis could get any of today's hot ass, so blow up these pics and enjoy the old school ride.

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 19:22:10

  52. Paul Newman... DREAMY! No actor today can touch how beautiful he was- The guys today that are supposed to be good looking Zach Effron, Rob Patterson, etc. All girls! Even the more mature guys (Clooney, Pitt, etc) can't hold a candle. Gregory Peck- sigh. Oh I wish Hollywood had real men again. All the guys now look like they would shriek like a school girl if they saw a spider. Please bring back MEN!

    By anonymous, on November 28, 2009 19:37:01

  60. this post was long overdue

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 00:27:15

  61. I know it's been said already, but GRACE KELLY!

Her entrance in "Rear Window" just might be the most smoldering thing ever captured on film.

By Jimmy Stewart, on November 29, 2009 01:15:24

  62. fine post!! yep those be the stars that actually have talent and good looks too.

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 01:43:08

  63. No actress in Hollywood's history has been more beautiful than Elizabeth Taylor in "A place in the sun". So fresh and delicate...it's a pity that by the late 50's, although still beautiful, she was beginning to get heavier and acquired a 'tired' look in her face

By Dr. Perverto, on November 29, 2009 03:53:22

  64. No actress in Hollywood's history has been more beautiful than Elizabeth Taylor in "A place in the sun". So fresh and delicate...it's a pity that by the late 50's, although still beautiful, she was beginning to get heavier and acquired a 'tired' look in her face
    -------------------------------------------------
PS. And that includes Marilyn Monroe in "some like it hot"-unbearably sexy but not as beautiful as Taylor

By Dr. Perverto, on November 29, 2009 03:55:36

  65. Lena Horne, dude. Lena Horne. I challenge anyone to google Lena Horne images and say otherwise.

By Lena Horne is Smokin', on November 29, 2009 03:58:55

  66. Yeah, I'm with 30, 38 and 56 - what the hell, Todd? How could you not put Grace Kelly and Ingrid Bergman up there? They both blow MM and Jane Russell out of the water!

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 04:02:20

  67. Rachel McAdams isn't even a beauty, much less classical beauty. She's average at best.

And how can a skank whore like Jolie with multiple surgeries be considered classically beautiful?

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 04:09:08

  68. your best post. thanks

By ok then, on November 29, 2009 04:17:58

  69. Agree with the general gist of the post, Todd, but angelina jolie is no "classical" beauty. Exotic beauty, maybe, but not classical. It's actually Megan Fox that has the classically beautiful features, behind the tats, overdone makeup and raggedy jeans.

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 04:54:55

  70. I like this post, I blame 70's Burt Reynolds for the start of cheesy hollywood.

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 05:06:04

  71. hmm. donna reed.

    By james, on November 29, 2009 05:11:43

  72. Wholeheartedly agree with your note #2, Todd. Elizabeth Taylor was stunning! Especially in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"

    By Joni, on November 29, 2009 05:17:18

  73. I miss Romy Schneider!

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 06:22:19

  74. It's funny that you're complaining about the classlessness of today's female celebrities, Todd. You are one of those bloggers who gives those women a forum and validates their delusions of being important and of value to society by declaring them to sex symbols (that brainless object of obsession of yours for example) and make them pop culture icons for a while. There is a very big difference between those classy sexy women you're praising in this post and the porn stars in training you're reporting on. If you're really missing the classiness of the past then I would suggest you stop posting about those scantily clad bimbos and more about women who don't need to undress themselves to show how sexy they are.

But let's not fool ourselves. You love those 'skanks' and you wouldn't even know what to do with a classy woman.

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 07:01:26

  75. Best post ever. You rock, Todd.

    By cintha, on November 29, 2009 07:50:12

  77. Todd - If you get ahold of a time machine, let me know because I'm going with you. Dibs on Rita Hayworth.

    By anonymous, on November 29, 2009 08:31:25

  78. Rita Hayworth is my favorite Hollywood star of the bunch - if you haven't seen Gilda, go f'ing rent it right now. Sure, it's got a weird gay subtext, but it's really twisted and witty and Rita was NEVER more beautiful. Her legs in the carnival costume are insane. You can understand why a man would do crazy things for her.

By WHERE THE REAL WOMEN ARE, on November 29, 2009 13:09:30

  82. sorry to burst anyone's bubble but most of the so-called "classic beauties" have had work done. Check before and after photos on the internet. And they had some forms of surgery available back in the day also, I know Rita Hayworth had her whole hairline raised for instance. Virtually everyone has had something done.

    By gryphon50, on November 29, 2009 13:20:25

  83. Where's Natalie Wood?

    By joe, on November 29, 2009 16:55:49

  84. Rita was married 5 times. WTF. Either had really bad luck or there was something really wrong with her.

Also, people think that everything was so much classier back then, but I think they all fucked around just as much, only hid it better.

    Husbands:
    James Hill (2 February 1958 - September 1961)
    Dick Haymes (24 September 1953 - 12 December 1955)
    Prince Aly Khan (27 May 1949 - 26 January 1953)
    Orson Welles (7 September 1943 - 1 December 1948)
    Edward C. Judson (29 May 1937 - 22 May 1942)

    By anonymous, on November 30, 2009 06:09:13

  85. Great thread. I agree with everyone who thinks this thread was good. Yeah, some like Rita had work done. However, they did not look artifical with that current tell tale sign of a pulled face, scrunched nose, etc.
ALSO, those ladies and guys knew how to act.
Rachel MsAmads, Jolie are notrbeauties, but they can act.
Nicole Kidman should not have had work doen on her face, but she canact.
Jennifer Anniston plays herself and her Rachel character which is herself invery movie. MERYL STREEP-a beauty and who can act. Each part is different and takes on a different look, voice, etc., for the character and shenever plays as Meryl Streep. Those actors of back when knew their craft. Many movies now are remakes of their work. Many actors of today can't act. They entertain, but can't act.
British actors are far better than American ones and that is why they sweep at our Oscars. Cate Blanchet and the rest and ones from that Royal Academy of Arts learn their craft.
The Aussies are good actors too.
