Way to go Todd. You had to bring up politics. Que 350 post battle ... and ... go ... on a side note I love Woody Harleson. He is batshit crazy and I think I'd punch him in the face in real life but he was so awesome in Zombieland. If Actors would just you know act and shut up about their thoughts and feelings it'd be such a perfect world. Dare to dream.
Oh come on. Everybody knows we went into Afghanistan to draw attention away from those now-awkward clips of Bush hugging, kissing, and holding hands with Saudi princes. They were afraid it would be seen as promoting both terrorism and gay marriage.
You can't blame him for that comment because he doesn't really have control over what he says. At this point, whenever he speaks the word "pipe" inevitably works its way into a prominent place in the conversation.
See what happens when white minorities flunk out of an education. They end up stuck in Iraq and Afganistan...or get trapped making shity movies and cross dressing.
Since your movie career is over, how about running my "Just" and "Proper" War for Stan McChrystal since we share a mutual loathing for the States. All 57 of them!!
You're going to war because a guy from some other country, a Saudi, is living somewhere in the mountains?
Well, when that Saudi guy is responsible for the worst attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor and the death of over 3000 innocent people then, yeah, you are going to go after him. Unless you're too weak, or too high.
DO U PEOPLE REALIZE THAT OUR PRES & VP'S COMPANIES INSTANTLY MOVED IN, BUILT AN OIL PIPELINE, GAVE THEMSELVES OVERPRICED CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION, AND THEN QUADRUPLED U.S. GAS PRICES????????????????
DO YOU REALIZE THAT THE U.S.A. PUT THE TALIBAN IN POWER IN AFGHANISTAN?? b/c at the time they hated the russian commies more
He's not defending satan osama, he's saying there is a lot more to it.
The Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs (the only nuclear bombs detonated by any country in the world so far), killed roughly 200,000 "innocent" people which is WAY more than 9/11. We need to stop starting wars in the name of something that happened 10 years ago. It happened and was terrible but we need to get over it.
Woody harleson is the perfect example of why movie actors should NEVER be interviewed about their beliefs or politics. He's a braindead moron; he probably believes in crystals & channeling...
Seriously though there is more to this war than the 911 attack. That was just the kick off. You can not convince me that with all our trillions of dollars of resources and military that we can't find one ass hole in a cave. So that's not our only objective of course. It's a very complex and unstable region. Note that the countries that we are involved in share borders with countries who have or soon will have NUKES. We allow the Taliban or any other extremist leadership to gain access to that and we'll see big mushrooms. Woody is narrow minded in this quote but oil certainly plays a part in the big picture. So does opium, religion and a long list of other factors. People get all focused on one thing and forget the rest. Like going to the grocery store and buying hot dog buns but no hot dogs or mustard. It's not for actors and stoners to figure out.
Yeah I liked Bar Rafaeli too until I realised that without the photoshop you can hardly tell her from any other Jew. That baby-faced queer actor can keep her for all I care.
Oh #15: don't even bring up the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs: 1)While we're bringing up UNRELATED past grievances, I want to complain about the Normans that invaded Britain around 1066. They slaughtered many, including some of my ancestors - which is way more than those killed in 9/11 too. 2) The Japanese could have saved their people people from being bombed, but instead they sat with their thumb up their asses waiting to see what America would do next. 3) It UNDOUBTEDLY saved many innocent young soldiers' lives. Or maybe you think it was irresponsible of the American government to put their lives of their citizens first? 4) Umm...Pearl Harbour anyone? Where is the Japanese sympathy for that? They still have none. They were ruthless, they just didn't have the weapons to carry out that ruthlessness on a large scale. Oh well, sucks to be them. They should've employed some Jews, Germans or at least Russians on their team.
Actually, Woody's family is WAY shady. His dad was a contract killer who shot a federal judge, and many people think he was in on the JFK assassination (he denies it). He was convicted of the judge's murder, and his wife, Woody's mom, was in on it, too. He got two life sentences, she got 25 years. That was back in '83. Woody pushed for a retrial, but got shot down (no pun intended). His Dad died in prison a few years ago. And to lock it all in,Woody was born on the same day as his Dad. I couldn't make this stuff up.
I don't see why you are making fun of Woody Harrelson. His theory is more sound than what is the accepted "truth". I am not saying that he is right or not, but it does make sense, although with the way this war goes, you might not see the pipelines happen any time soon.
Thursday, December 4, 1997 Published at 19:27 GMT World: West Asia Taleban in Texas for talks on gas pipeline
The 1,300km pipeline will carry gas across Afghanistan's harsh terrain
A senior delegation from the Taleban movement in Afghanistan is in the United States for talks with an international energy company that wants to construct a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan across Afghanistan to Pakistan.
A spokesman for the company, Unocal, said the Taleban were expected to spend several days at the company's headquarters in Sugarland, Texas.
Yeah, because the government of the United States is going to spend billions upon billions of dollars and American lives (and precious political capital) to help some 2nd tier oil company win a pipeline contract in Afghanistan. Yeah, Bin Laden and 9/11 are just a cover for this "real" agenda. Christ, you people are gullible. That's the real worry here.
I love how some people interpret "being smart" as "believe any conspiracy theory bullshit that doesn't have a shred of evidence or common sense to back it up so long as it makes out white european males (preferably conservatives) to be the bad guys".
Newsbusters is your source. That is like using this site as a news source. Last time I checked zero Afghans were involved in 9/11, most were Saudi. The people being tried were picked up in Pakistan. Oh yeah and president Karzai (who just stole an election and is the biggest producer of heroin in the world) was an oil executive at Unocal.
It's a well known fact that the CIA was funding Osama and his Mujahadeen buddies back in the 80's to whip the Soviets. The Taliban was formed from this event....
~ The fact is Bush, Cheney, Rumsfailed et. al. said things that were completely strange and untrue. America's in denile about it's greed for oil and other resources. And the need to control populations in what are supposed to be sovereign countries.
