  2. #1 where the hell did that come from. Married to her mother and suppose to b her brother??? Did I miss something? Im confused about that statement...

  3. Her mother and brother should be in prison. They helped kill her and so did all these so called JEW doctors. All they said was she was not on drugs...yea and Lindsey Lohan is clean too. Its time the judges send people to prison instead of rehab. They dont get it, hard time helps, at least low security, ask Paris Hilton. Where has she been? Seems somebody learned a lesson. Most never do.

  4. Promethazine is an anti-nausea/anti-vomiting medication with a side effect of mild sedation. Maybe we need more pharmacists fact checking these articles that TMZ and the like put out....

  5. Sorry she's dead, but the girl was clearly fucked up.

    By anonymous, on March 21, 2010 07:26:11

  6. Can't we just let the poor girl rest in peace?

    By anonymous, on March 21, 2010 07:41:03

  7. Her real life story eerily mirrors the role she played in "Girl, Interrupted". Remember? That character was a pill popper too. Colase.

  9. I still feel bad for her. She seemed like one of the nicer people in Hollywood in spite of her bad choices. These doctors are the real evil here, they know these celebrities are drug addicts and just keep giving them pills anyway for $$$. They're no better than the local crack dealer really. Bunch of vampires.

  10. This is Heath Ledger speculation happening all over again!

    By anonymous, on March 21, 2010 12:05:12

  11. These aren't recreational drugs. She was obviously a hypochondriac. Sad.

Humm, there are some crazies onsite today, aren't there?

    By RaraAvis, on March 21, 2010 12:08:03

  12. Colace is a laxative. It's supposed to help you poop. If that qualifies as a pill popper...wtf.

  13. And in the land of the living, her mom is now sexing her husband.

    By anonymous, on March 21, 2010 17:33:59

  14. Leave her alone ass wipe

  15. Did someone call for a pharmacist ?
Guess what is one of the main side-effects of high-doses of narcotics ? Uh, nausea. Promethazine's indication (use) is for nausea (among other uses-allergic reactions and sedation). So, I have seen many abusers of narcotics get rx's for phenergan(promethazine) so that they are able to keep the nausea under control and continue to take large doses of narcotics without puking.
Sarafem was marketed to treat pre-menstrual syndrome...and is nothing more than another manufacturers version of fluoxetine-Prozac...taken on 'those' 7 days per month. I recall reading somewhere that it is alleged that she suffered from pre-menstrual syndrome or disorder or dysphoria. Perhaps depression. Hmmm. Co-morbid psychiatric disorders? Nah. Not a movie star.
Whats more shocking...to me as a pharmacist is why is an asthmatic, assuming she is one, receiving propranolol ? This could easily be deadly.
Quick pharmacology lesson.... propranolol is a beta blocker...meaning it blocks the effect of epinephrine (adrenaline) on beta receptors throughout the body. Beta receptor is the name given to those receptors in the body which when stimulated by epinephrine cause the "fight or flight" reaction. They cause the blood pressure to go up, the heart rate to quicken, etc. Prepares you physiologically to fight or flee...and they cause you to shake and tremble when you're afraid. Beta blockers oppose this and work well for stage fright.
There is more than one type of beta receptor in the body. There is a second set of beta receptors and one is found in among other areas, the lungs. When stimulated, Beta(2) receptors will open the airways to allow for increased airflow into the lungs. Most broncho-dialtors (eg Albuterol)take advantage of this fact and mimic epinephrine and selectively stimulate these receptors and relax and open the airways in an asthma attack for instance.
A beta-blocker would oppose this effect and block this beta receptor in the lungs responsible for broncho-dialation(airway opening)....causing broncho-constriction(airway closing) in an asthmatic...and often fatal broncho-constriction. How serious is this problem ? It is contraindicated to use beta blocking eye drops for glaucoma (eg Timolol)in asthmatics-that's how serious.
So, looking at the big picture: its alleged that she's abusing narcotics which are respiratory depressants. More good news : 40% of opioid patients have opioid sleep apnea(periodically stop breathing briefly during sleep).
It is suggested she's an asthmatic and has poor lung function...and she has a respiratory ailment. Its alleged that she takes large amount of opiates. On top of all this, shes being given a non-selective beta-blocker? In pharmacy terms ... WTF ???
Its is alleged that she had 5 rounds of Biaxin? Really? The first 4 didn't work so the fifth will? Sputum culture and sensitivity ? Nah, go with 6 rounds of Biaxin. Doxycycline or Levaquin ? Wht for? http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/234240-treatment
And she died from a respiratory ailment CAP ?
Wow...Plenty of alleged blame to go around. Someone here alleged that her mother and husband also may have taken opiates ? Family history of substance abuse ? Nah. Not a movie star. Allegations of doctor shopping and pharmacy hopping ? Would this fall under the category of aggressively complaining about the need for higher doses? Nah...not a movie star. She's just a diva.
You have a very very serious problem on your hands America ...prescription drug abuse!
The USA which has 4.6% of the worlds population uses 80% of the worlds opiates(hydrocodone, Oxycontin, morphine, methadone etc) Who said this ? The DEA's Drug Diversion Control Dept.

A documented doubling of opioid misuse between 1997 and 2009.(DAWN)

"There is neither a strong history of success of opiates for chronic pain nor strong unchallenged expert opinion supporting the therapy " (anonymous...but well-respected authority)
Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story kids.....
Don't think I'm gonna let your gramma suffer in pain. Ill fill her rx, chat her up and send her on her way.

  16. "Promethazine is an anti-nausea/anti-vomiting medication with a side effect of mild sedation. Maybe we need more pharmacists fact checking these articles that TMZ and the like put out...."

Um #4, they prescribe those alone with Vicodin or other narcotic prescription drugs because they make typical users feel like vomiting.

Simple fact is that she'd be alive if she wasn't on these pills.
