These days, 18 is still a child. Why was he living on his own when his family knew how depressed he was? He should have been with them, and maybe this could have been prevented.
Depression's fucked up and there's very little anyone can do about it. Sometimes people respond to treatment and sometimes they jump. Happens every day so I'm not going to get all teary about Marie Osmond. I love free speech. Say whatever you want.
The Osmonds are Mormon and that 18 year old son was getting ready to go to the Fashion Institute in LA. You do the math... I can take a few guesses at why he might be hurting so bad and depressed at 18. Depression doesn't care how much ca$h you have.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, it's funny when everyone takes you seriously. Also, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA he died with more money than me.
Low, Todd. A bad post over someone's severe depression and killing themselves over it and then making fun of their family? You get on your soap box about a child molester but for some reason think this is something to crack at. The post wasn't funny and your remarks were ignorant.
hey todd, you are lucky you live in today's world. sixty years ago you would have been on a train with a one way ticket to the reeducation camp where work would have set you free...or not, you piece of inferior dung.Ever have a real job scumsucker? probably not. you should have been gassed with all the others.
Poor kid. Depression is a monster. I don't think being raised Mormon helped, either - have any of you ever noticed how many people on "Intervention" were raised Mormon? I think there must be some attitude towards addiction/depression, etc. in that religion that is NOT conducive to getting useful treatment.
Depression is a REAL epidemic. I feel very sorry for Marie and their son. I can't imagine something more devesting than to raise a child for 18 years and find that he has taken his own life. This is tragic on many levels.
Was Marie Mormon or Scientologist, since apparently she didn't believe in getting her kid psychiatric help? You can't tell me a family with this much money and fame couldn't find anyone to help their kid!
I feel sorry for all the pampered babies, living in first world countries, whining about how "depressing" it is. Maybe we should export all our depressed people to Haiti; that just might change their attitudes.
Shit, if I found out half my graduating clkass was spanking it to my mom, I'd jump too And all you Todd-haters: fuck you! He's only saying out loud half the shit you say in private You go Todd!
Sigh. IDLYITWers....if they're not reminding you for the thousandth time that they have hot Victoria's Secret-caliber wives waiting at home to service them, they're mocking the families of suicide victims for the ten thousandth time. Cos that's just how a bitch-magnet rolls.
PS: if you're looking for a little co-ed punanni but nobody's killed themselves lately?....no sweat. Just trip the first cripple you see; she'll be on your wood like a knothole.
"Fucking A. Here we go again. Another chance for all the holier-than-thou douchebags to whine in with their phony indignation at Todd's post."
"And all you Todd-haters: fuck you! He's only saying out loud half the shit you say in private You go Todd!"
Wait, wait, let me guess.....you two were the ones whoi claimed to haare the guys with hot
Todd, you are one sad, pathetic f*ck. You can't get lower than you, buddy. Nothing but a green fly hovering over a steaming pile of dog sh*t is what you are.
All you fucking morons getting your panties in a bunch over Todd's humor. Do you realize that you're defending someone whom you didn't even know existed until this post? Seriously, if some dumb ass wants to kill himself, he should be called out for being a dumbass.
If I were the authorities (whoever the fuck they are), I'd investigate further into this trainwreck of a family. If Marie's son was suffering from depression and went into treatment at 16, that means they must have at some point plied him with anti-depressants. Let me get to my point. In the USA, it's illegal to prescribe anti-depressants to children under the age of 21 as they are dangerous in the way that they cause some to have suicidal thoughts and tendencies. Good point #3... and why WAS he living on his own? What a disaster this whole scenerio turned out to be. Poor, poor kid. You can't pick your adoptive parents. He drew the short straw.
Though I find Marie Osmond personally rather revolting, I think it sad that an 18 year old with his whole life ahead of him couldn't see any way forward other than taking his own life. Depression is an awful disease that I have personally experienced and would not wish on anyone.
Regarding the offensive nature of Todd's comments, I do not come here for compassion and support, rather, for the bitchy, snarky celebrity gossip. It seems that Todd can make jokes about child molesters, skanks & people with drug or alcohol addictions, but if he makes a distasteful remark about something that YOU take seriously - it's time to call the whaaaaambulance.
He was adopted, and had a lot of psychological issues regarding it. It was because of this he went to rehab ( saw an interview on GMA with Marie where she explained this) Obviously money doesn't stop depression. Many people have "things" others want, but not true happiness. Not to mention that depression is often caused by chemical and hormonal imbalances in the brain, and no external factor in your life can correct that. I feel sorry for him that he felt there was nothing he could say or do that would make the depression end other than taking his life.
All I can say is too bad Todd's mother didn't jump out a window herself at the age of 18. She would have done us all a favor by saving us from her hateful, vile spawn.

Leave Your CommentWhat a devastating thing to happen to this family. I just hope they can get some comfort from remembering him when he was a happy person.

Very sad story. No one should kill themselves being that young. There's always more to live for than to die for.
By anonymous, on March 1, 2010 07:06:24
If that freakazoid Osmond was my mother I would probably off myself too.
By anonymous, on March 1, 2010 07:19:32
Booohoohoo..... wah wah wah
Why give this woman any more compassion than SHE is capable of HERSELF??
Does no one else remember a couple years back when Marie went on Larry King and told the world her son was a drug addict?? I DO....
She used her son's drug addiction and 'passing out' (ie: staged incident) on some dancing show to revive her career.
Does Marie Osmond even have shame????? hmmm...

By anonymous, on March 1, 2010 10:47:38
Marie Osmond's son was probably depressed about growing up homosexual in a Mormon Family.
Its too bad he didnt get a chance to talk to Todd because Todd could explain how he overcame his own struggle as a closeted transexual.

man...you people are STOOPID...depression is a mental illness that can't be cured.
It lurks around inside while you're under medication but it never goes away..just a matter of time before it kills you.
