    x*x does not reduce to 2x; x², yes--2x, no.
    
    As such, 5² = 25. 2*5 = 10. 25+10=35. This is an exceedingly simple problem, and if math has any function in the utility of your everyday life, I would suggest revisiting an algebra primer, specifically one detailing common terms. Good luck! :)
