Which, even then, the figures add a few extra digits. And, beyond that, the numbers don't scream out that PETA kills 97% of every animal that enters their headquarters -
It says that it euthanizes about 750 animals per year. It doesn't say why; it doesn't say if it is owner's animals, or the 10-20 strays they find every year; or otherwise.

So if you go to the "PETA kills animals" website it has "Still Skeptical!? Check this out!" which is the PETA disclosure to the Virginia Department of Agriculture.
Daniel Kovich's exists; but damn does "PETA kills animal" misread the FUCK out of that report. They say that PETA kills 97% of all the animals it receives; then they provide the caveat that it is in comparison to the animals they euthanize and those that are not taken home by their owners. Which, even then, the figures add a few extra digits. And, beyond that, the numbers don't scream out that PETA kills 97% of every animal that enters their headquarters -
It says that it euthanizes about 750 animals per year. It doesn't say why; it doesn't say if it is owner's animals, or the 10-20 strays they find every year; or otherwise.
In the end, it's the same ol' shit: people wanting to control you, and your opinions, and thus your pocket books, through your emotions of blow and counter blow between big organizations that don't give a shit about you.

I guess once PETA has your money they don't care if they snuff Fluffy and a cast of thousands instead of taking the time and expense to send them to a 'no kill' shelter if they can't find a home for them.

I don't mind steak, what i DO mind is cruelty, especially gratuitous cruelty, towards animals. If we're better than them let's act as such, by being humane (not fanatic)! After all: animals don't lie to your face, they don't cheat on you, they don't DUI, they don't fly planes into the WTC, they don't end up needing cranes to lift their sorry obese asses out of their houses, they don't rape children...you get the idea.
