Totally legit that the Marine Ball will be in Greenville, NC. I work for the Greenville Hilton and we have around 7 USMC events every year. Yeah, the troops are located elsewhere, but many of the balls are in Greenville. I've worked them every year for the last 3 years. Something like 6,000 plus (quick low estimate) marines yearly. I suddenly don't feel like quitting my job just yet.
ECU is not lousy! Just because its not a bunch of stuck up liberals doesn't mean it's not a good school. Be thankful North Carolina has ECU- they graduate more nurses than any other university in NC! So when you are in the hospital there is some one to take care of you!
Please refrain from slandering Greenville and East Carolina University. I am not sure why this writer makes the "date rape" claim. That is a serious accusation that should not be thrown out there without some justification. I live in Greenville and work at ECU and there is no "date rape" issue at ECU. If you are a rival fan and don't like ECU on the field then that is one thing, but to slander a lot of great people that are connected to ECU and Greenville is very irresponsible and childish at best! ECU and the US Military have a very strong relationship, so it is not out of the question that the Marine Corp Ball would be in Greenville. No other school in NC or probably on the east coast other than the Citadel, VMI etc have have the relationship that ECU does with our military.
