Lots of people who actually travel and may decide on a whim to go visit a foreign country have their passport on them at all times. Even if they don't plan on using it this document is also good for ID so it's not as strange as people who travel abroad think. Much easier than going back home to get it and certainly safer than mailing it. That said, it's the carelessness that she shows in letting those items get "snatched" that was dumb.
BTW- #1 "purse" and "snatch" is the same in slingo, so can't have your snatch pursed or your purse snatched, unless her and some other Lesbian were muff bumping, then maybe.

...and for everyone going on-and-on about not needing a passport for domestic travel; depending on which State your drivers permit is issued in you may need a passport in order for the air carrer to be in conformance with the Real ID statute. Some states, like Colorado and a few others, will issue a drivers permit to out of state residence. If you have a permit from one of these states there's a good chance the airline will ask you for another form of ID. I know this cuz' I've had this happen to me a few times.
