The first image of Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Snyder's Superman: Man Of Steel hit online today, and uhh, nice hair. So does Superman have a van now? Does he supplement his reporter salary by doing Just For Men ads? What the fuck is this? "I normally don't have my picture taken, but when I do, I prefer extra hair product. In a press release issued by Warner Bros. today, Christopher Nolan announced that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises. You may know Ms. Kyle, by her more famous name, Catwoman. Also, the reason why Tom Hardy was cast has also made known. He's Bane. The villain who broke Batman's back leaving him paralyzed. Sounds like fun for the whole family! JoBlo reports:

Anne Hathaway is playing Selina Kyle (who, of course, eventually becomes Catwoman), and Tom Hardy is portraying Bane. While Catwoman has a long and storied history with the Bat, Bane is a relatively new foe, first appearing in DC Comics in 1993. Most know Bane as the "Man Who Broke the Bat" after the villainous character sniffed out Batman's true identity and snapped his back, paralyzing him... Should be interesting to see where Nolan takes these two characters - I certainly never thought that Catwoman would appear in this particular Gotham. Catwoman is a sexy, unrelenting badass, and Anne Hathaway was in the Princess Diaries once. Wonderful. For her sake, I hope they vacuum seal her in that leather costume, or I'm really going to start to think that Nolan believes Bruce Wayne is a closeted homosexual. First Maggie Gyllenhaal now Hathaway? Do Batman and Catwoman fight then go pick out comforters and table settings together? What's happening here? But I'm more worried about how Nolan plans to turn Tom Hardy into this. Maybe saw him in Bronson. Or maybe they're just pulling names out of a hat at this point. Maybe they cast Miley Cyrus as The Penguin or Kirk Cameron as a black guy.

Christopher Nolan is reportedly considering using previously unseen footage of Heath Ledger in the new Batman movie. "The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time," a source explained. "Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker." It is thought only a snippet of footage will be used, although the plan is only in the early stages at the moment. If it goes ahead it is likely to be a hit with fans and industry professionals alike, as Heath's portrayal of the Joker has gone down in film history as one of the most intense depictions of a character ever seen. "It would only be a fleeting moment in the movie and would only be included with the full consent of Heath's family," the source added.

Of course this is all just unsubstantiated rumor and speculation, but Christopher Nolan couldn't make a bad movie if he tried and Heath Ledger as The Joker was utterly brilliant, so I'm going to live my life like this is 100% true. Just like the time my girlfriend told me that size doesn't matter and that she loves me just for me. She's so sweet!
